Maple May

Welcome to Maple May!

It`s May 2021 and I’m a year older than I was when I last stopped by to share my tales with you all. Glad to be back!

For the first time in a very long time, I was not anxious about my birthday. This time around, I was just HOPEFUL.

Over the years, I have come to accept that there are situations in life that we have the power to change, things that we can control, and obviously, some that we cannot change. We make plans without knowing what the future holds, what challenges we might face, or what opportunities we might find. Through it all, I have learnt to remain hopeful, to do my best and to hope for the best. To keep focused on my goals and dreams while being hopeful.

Although I started this new age on a good note, a few days ago I had a few challenges that brought me doubt and fear. Do you ever feel like you`re not doing enough, not working as hard or not performing as you should be? Life huh!!!

One of my biggest fears is letting myself, and those that believe in me down. I hate to disappoint (Yes, I aim to please!). A few days ago, I felt like I was struggling to perform. I sat down to assess my progress with the goals I set for last month, the responsibilities I had, and let`s just say that I didn’t get to pat myself on the back. I thought I was letting some people down, holding myself back and generally not working as hard as I should be.

Whenever you`re faced with doubt, please remind yourself to remain focused, to be strong, and keep the hope alive. Remind yourself to keep pressing on towards that goal, that dream, that idea that you hope to bring to life someday.

It is a new month and you have a new opportunity to do better. Every season is different. Just because you did not perform as you wanted to last month, does not mean that you will not perform better this month. In fact, with the lessons learnt, you can take up this month with a newfound spirit and exceed your goals for last month.

I crafted my theme for this month from the ability of maple trees to tolerate drought, thrive in different weathers and adapt to different kinds of seasons, weather or soil. I find maple trees to be fascinating. Not just because they are extremely beautiful in all seasons (even when they are leafless), but because of their ability to thrive.

Maple trees symbolize strength and endurance, and that is what Maple May is about.

This month, choose to take on each day with strength, courage and hope that all your effort will be worth it soon, that in the end, it will all be worth it, and no matter the circumstances, remain focused and do your very best.

Maple trees symbolize balance, offering, practical magic, promise, longevity, generosity, and intelligence. Maple May is for taking on challenges, daring and taking up space. Maple trees are moisture seekers, so chase that opportunity, open doors, explore all your options and do your best. Grow your roots and build that strong foundation that will survive all seaons. Take on each day, each task, and each opportunity with strength, courage and hope that all your efforts will pay off soon.

Enjoy Maple May and let`s take it on together.

Be safe.

Respect. Kindness. Humility. Never leave I love you left unsaid!
